We take cricket very seriously at Alethea. We have a full time coach for cricket and cricket takes pride of place at Alethea.
Some of our achievements in the recent past are given below.
• In 2002-2003 season Alethea became joint champions
with Gateway International School. This international
schools tournament was organized by Gateway
international School.
• In 2003 Alethea became the runners up in the under 17
international school tournament.
• In 2004 the under 17 team came upto the semi finals.
Our batsman Thanuja Perera was the pride of Alethea
when he was selected as the best batsman in the
tournament.
• In 2005 Alethe under 19 team became the runners up in
the 20/20 cricket tournament organized by Elizebeth Moir
International School. Aletheans had the honour of
winning both the best batsman ( Thanuj Perera ) and
best bowler (Siraj Najmudeen).
• In the year 2006 we won the under 19 20/20 cricket
tournament organized by Elizebeth Moir International
School. Alethea had the honour of having both the man
of the match (Hasitha Perera ) and the best bowler
(Gayan Godakanda).
• 2007, our under 19 team came upto the semi finals in the
cricket tournament.
• In 2008, our coach Mr Manju Sri Rajapaksha went to
England to play County cricket in the Devonshire league
representing the Kenn Cricket Club. He was the valuable
player of the tournament with 4 centuries and 10 half
centuries in batting and 40 wickets in bowling. His
batting aggregate was 1,369 runs at an average of 72.0
per innings.
He is a level one cricket coach.
• In 2009 our under 13 team was the runners up in the six
a side cricket tournament organized by Vidura College.
• We also came upto the semi finals in the international
schools cricket tournament in the same age group.
• In 2009 we were the runners up in the under 17
tournament organized by Wycherly International School.
Our M Arthiq had the honour of getting the highest
score.
