The Past Pupils of Alethea have come together to felicitate their beloved teachers...
A series of visits to meet up with the Teachers will culminate with a Teachers' Felicitation Event scheduled to be held on the 4th of December from 6.00.p.m. at the School premises.
Teachers who have served the school over 10 years will all be felicitated at this event. The organising committee has organised a fellowship event thereafter for all to relive their glorious moments at school. There will also be many Alethea branded souvenir items for sale at the event. Entrance is by tickets of Rs 1,000/- each.

The Primary, Middle and Senior School of Alethea School and Alethea International School unite forces to celebrate the Annual Independence Day of Sri Lanka. The programme begins with the customary hoisting of the National Flag/School Flag and the singing of the National Anthem.
The students with the assistance of the teachers stage a show depicting the various aspects of the Sri Lankan history and culture. The highlights of some of the celebrations include a historical pageant representing the different Eras of foreign rule and the dramatization of some significant historical events.
Alethea Avurudu Ulela is celebrated in grand style every year with all the students and teachers participating dressed in traditional clothes. Traditional customs such as Boiling of Milk, Worshiping Elders and Lighting of the Oil Lamp commence the program. Each class is given the opportunity to participate in an Avurudu race such as the
Three legged race, lime and spoon race, feeding yoghurt. The Cross Country Race, Pillow Fighting and Tug of War are among the other traditional games organised by the school to ensure that students to gain a fantastic experience whilst educating them of the diverse Sri Lankan culture.
A Sil programme was held on 6th April to celebrate Vesak. Buddhist sermons were presented, followed by a Dharma Discussion.
The annual Bakthi Gee programme is held amidst a large gathering of parents and well-wishers. Students of all
religious groups participated in this spectacular programme. The stage is transformed into a themed atmosphere with the state of the Art stage decoration by our own talented students under the guidance of our capable teachers.
The Prize Giving is the most prestigious event in the school academic calendar. Both students and teachers strive hard through out the year in the hope of being recognized and achieving accolades for all the hard work. The distribution of awards is categorised into academic, extra-curricular and sports, giving all students
of diverse talents and aptitude the opportunity to obtain recognition and strive for excellence in the future.
Some of the teachers are also given prominence in appreciation of all the Hard work, Commitment and Loyalty they have given to Alethea throughout the years.
It is an evening of great fun and laughter with entertainment including an exciting Magic show, spectacular fireworks, all in the company of popular cartoon characters including Shrek, Miss Piggy, Tigger and so on.
The Middle school Christmas party is also a night of excitement and fun where children of both mediums enjoy team games and dancing with each other to build the level of interaction and unity within the school students. It is a most welcome and relaxing evening for the students as well as for the teachers.
The Annual Year End Concert is held during December at Bishops College Auditorium. The senior students & primary students will be dancing and singing will portray their talents in drama, song and dance. Choir conducted
by Sanjeev Jayaratnam and the dancing items done by the teachers & students Ms. Jandari, Ms. Nimmi, Ms. Yogya & Sashien, Shehara & Dilsha.
The Academic term started by commemorating the Founders and seeking blessing for the term ahead. This years celebrations we reflected on the great learnered vision of our founders and the important milestone reached with the school completing 80 years of educational excellence.
Buddhist society organized the All night pirith ceremony during the month of September followed by a heel dane was organized by the and the Christian Society, Islamic Society & the Hindu Society organizing their religious programs respectively.

The Christian Society under the directorship of all the teachers, celebrate a beautiful Prayer Service for Easter which is conducted in the presence of a large gathering.
During the month of Lent "The way of the Cross" ceremony is held with the supportive participation of the students, teachers and parents.
Ifthar ceremony is organized in the month of Ramazan in the school premises and students, teachers and well wishers join in the breaking of fast. Students from all
races graced the occasion. Gifts of exercise books are given to an orphanage as a part of program.
This colourful celebration is a much anticipated day of fun and entertainment. The primary and middle school children experience exciting thrill as they parade along the road in their respective costumes to the music of the school
"papare band". It also an approach of introducing the diverse Sri Lankan culture, history and traditions to the children.
The triumph of good over evil was celebrated at the end of the Navarathri program with a ceremony organized by the Hindu Society during the month of October. Poojas
were offered to Goddess Saraswathy, the Goddess of Learning and wisdom to invoke blessings on the school and students.
The Brotherhood Day is an annual celebration held for the past 25 years.
The Islamic society organized an Inter- International Islamic day. The Islamic Brotherhood Day
during of August at Bishops College Auditorium. This event too saw the participation of all religious groups and was a celebration of Islam as well as understanding.
BTEC Courses
