The purpose of the Interact club has always been to provide opportunities for young people to work together in universal fellowship, dedicated to service and international understanding.
The installation of the committee members of Alethea International School - Interact Club for the year 2009/2010 was held on the 19th of November 2009. Mr. Suresh Britto graced the occasion as the chief guest. Noted Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Colombo Uptown were also present.
The evening also saw our talented interactors enthrall the audience with their songs and music. Interactors from other schools were also present on this day.
The 2nd term was a very busy and productive one for the Interact Club.
A team of 10 interactors attended the 19th Colombo District Conference on the 27th of February 2010 held at St. Joseph's College Colombo. Five of our interacters gave an exemplary performance on this occasion.
On the 30th of March 2010 the Interact Club in collaboration with the Womens' Chamber of Commerce visited 'Sukitha' a vocational training centre. The centre is a home for the orphaned and the disabled women. The members of the Interact Club spent an entire afternoon with the residents of Sukitha which proved to be mutually beneficial to both parties. A roll Mac foil was donated by the Interact Club to Sukitha.
The club organized its first 'Bake Sale' on the 31st of March 2010. The proceeds from this fund-raising event were also donated to Sukitha Home.
